With EXPOSE 2, you can deliver the best listening experience and release your music with confidence.

Our Review

So you are working on your latest mix. But are you heading in the right direction? Or you are just about to launch your song on the streaming platforms… But is it ready for them? EXPOSE 2 comes to help. It will help you find the issues with your music so you can correct them and make sure your music sounds great wherever you are playing it.

First of all, this is a standalone application, you can use it outside your DAW and we find this thing extremely useful. Another thing we love about EXPOSE 2 is that beside mastering, you can use also it for the mixing phase. This way you can verify if your mix is heading in the right direction and make proper adjustments along the way. There is also a broadcasting option available if you’re creating television based material.

Various presets for mixing, mastering and broadcast are available

We’ve tested the application on various songs and projects, using reference songs in the same genres.

We started with a song in the mixing phase and the first thing EXPOSE 2 showed us was that the average loudness of the mix was too low. We made the proper adjustments in the mix and loaded the file again, then everything looked great. The peak, stereo image and dynamics were also in the ballpark, hence no red.

Red value, corrections are required

Another thing we loved is the fact that you can easily export the feedback analysis on a file to your desktop. Then you can send it to the person(s) in charge for making the needed corrections.

With the “Loudness Match” feature you can normalize all audio to the same perceived volume for unbiased comparison. This way you can be sure your ears play no tricks on you.

The EQ section allows you to check the tonal balance of your track and compare it with your imported reference tracks.

We’ve compared our track (blue) against the reference (light blue).

You can also select a genre-specific preset or even create your own preset based on your favorite reference track. Just make sure the song you’re using for reference is in the same genre and its instrumentation is very similar. You will get amazing results because you will know which frequencies need further work.

The conclusions are pretty straight-forward. In a matter of seconds you will be able to find the weaknesses for your mix or master and know where and how to make the proper adjustments. EXPOSE 2 is a must have for any serious studio. The price is very good also and you can even save if you’re upgrading from EXPOSE 1.

This is another great software from Mastering the Mix. Highly recommended, 5 stars!
